The Sprint Retrospective is a meeting held at the end of the sprint, after the Sprint Review, with the main goal of improving the team’s way of working.

What happens during the Retrospective?

  • The team openly discusses:

    • What went well during the sprint?

    • What could be improved or wasn’t clear?

    • What actionable steps can be taken to improve performance in the next sprint?

  • The focus is on processes and collaboration, not on individuals.

  • The team identifies clear improvement actions to implement.

Important rules

  • The meeting is open and honest, with all opinions respected and no blame.

  • The goal is to create a safe environment that fosters continuous improvement.

  • Agreed points and actions are documented and followed up in the next sprint.

Meeting duration

  • Typically lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours for a two-week sprint.
